Extract from Manual 2: Learning Principles of Nei Jia This Instruction Manual 2: Learning Principles of Nei Jia, can be purchased for £8 here. Practice with insight into the key principles of the Art allows you to feel the inner essence – the core - of the Art. This inner essence is simple however it takes time and practice to feel this simplicity. A set of principles is required to undertake practice so as to reach this simplicity. Tools: A Tool is a Practical Application of a Principle A tool is an application of a principle that can be practiced and which increases understanding. Once something is understood then the tool can be discarded. A tool is a verisimilitude that allows the Truth to be seen clearer. Why Do You Need Principles and Tools? How does the student determine if what they practice is correct? What are the criteria for martial arts practice? How do you test if something is being done properly? Out of the multitude of movements and forms, how does the student know what is being done? The answer to this is to apply core principles, or rather the practical application of core principles (tools) to every infinite situation. Mastery is an understanding of the basics. In this way you are able not only to analyse your own movement but that of others as well. © Copyright. All textual and graphical content on this web site is copyright to the Rose Li School.
