Open Access Classes The School welcomes all prospective School Members whatever their background. Weekly open access classes are available at Pineapple Studios on Saturdays. Please note that there is an entry charge of £4 payable at Pineapple reception. An information sheet for new students is available here. A School Member application form is available here. You must download this and submit a completed form when you attend your second class. Preparation: • Please arrive 5-10 mins before class • Do not eat at least 2 hours before practice • You should wear loose-fitting clothing and something on your feet: kung fu slippers are ideal for Tai Chi or Ba Kua, trainers are more suitable for Xing Yi. Times of Classes on Saturday • Tai Chi: Studio 10, 3pm • Ba Gua: Studio 5, 4pm • Xing Yi: Studio 5, 5pm Prices: The cost of your first open access class is: • Tai Chi: £10 • Ba Gua: £15 • Xing Yi: £15 After your first class you must apply for School Membership or otherwise lose teaching privileges (i.e. you will not be allowed to continue to attend class). Places for School Membership are limited as the School ethos is to provide close supervision for the dedicated and committed, individual student. Please see the information sheet for new students for more information. On joining the School: • Fee payment is made on a monthly basis • You are required to pay an annual Membership fee every December • You obtain price reductions on classes • You gain access to learning materials not available to non-School Members Prices for School Members: School Members receive a reduction in tuition fees depending upon how many of the Arts are studied. The costs for a single Saturday are show below:
Monthly fees are calculated by multiplying the above fees by 4 or 5 depending upon how many Saturdays are in the month. Examples: • For a month with 4 Saturdays and for a student only doing Tai Chi their monthly fee would be 4x10 = £40 • For a month with 4 Saturdays and for a student doing Ba Gua and Xing Yi their monthly fee would be 4x27 = £108 • For a month with 5 Saturdays and for a student doing Tai Chi, Ba Gua and Xing Yi their monthly fee would be 5x33 = £165 Equity card holders, British Mountaineering Council members and students in full-time education get an additional 10% reduction on these fees. Other Classes: Brighton • Open access Tai Chi classes in the form of a six-weekly block structured programme are also soon to be available in Brighton; contact the School if you are interested in booking a place. © Copyright.
